Danny Magill edged Donegal ahead with a point off his left. Kerry then struck the first goal of the game. Rob Stack found Breathnach inside, and the corner-forward made no mistake with the finish. 1-1 to 0-2 in Kerry’s favour.

Donegal responded with a point from Oisín Conaty after Donegal overturned possession in midfield. Ciarán McDevitt levelled the game with a point, assisted by Morrissey. Shortly after, Morrissey fisted over a point to make it 0-5 to 1-1.

A point from Conall Devlin made it 1-4 to 2-3 in favor of the Macs.

Galway hit back with Nathan Grainger adding a free and a 2-pointer to edge them ahead. The pressure kept coming as Jack Lawlor, Cian Hernon, and Grainger all added 2-pointers in quick succession.
