Sean-Patrick Faherty pointed next for Christopher’s, followed by scores from Barra Ryan and Liam Twohig, after Twohig took a quick solo and go from a free. Gormley replied with one from play to keep the Macs in touch, 1-4 to 0-3.

Both sides traded scores with Twohig and Faherty again on target for Christopher’s, while Toirealach Brolly and Cillian Murray hit back for the Macs. Christopher’s then pushed ahead with their second goal, Conor O’Sullivan finding the net which then followed by three more points, Twohig who was on target.

The third goal arrived soon after, and it was Twohig again, this time bursting through the defence and finding the back of the net. Christopher’s now led 3-8 to 1-4.

Niall Kilroy added a 2-pointer and a point to stretch the lead even further. Cillian Murray replied with two pointed frees for the Macs just before the break.

Kerry Boston vs Galway Boston

Sunday, July 6th 2025, 2pm

Kerry Boston 2-17 | Galway Boston 4-11

Kerry and Galway played out a thrilling, hard-fought contest under the sweltering Canton sun on Sunday afternoon, with little separating the sides in a game that finished all square.

Galway struck the first blow when Cian Hernon won a kickout and tore through the heart of the Kerry defence to bury the ball in the back of the net. Kerry responded quickly. Luke Breathnach opened their account with a point, and after a Galway attack broke down, Kerry overturned possession and Rob Stack slotted a point.

Kerry were awarded a penalty soon after, and Stack made no mistake in firing it home. He followed it up with another point, and Breathnach added one more to leave Kerry ahead by four, 1-4 to 1-0.

Both sides saw chances turned over as the defences battled hard. Galway’s Ciarán Potter turned over a Kerry attack, and the ball was worked up to Nathan Grainger, who landed back-to-back points to keep Galway in touch.

Ethan Duane won the next kickout for Kerry, and the play ended with Breathnach sending home Kerry’s second goal. Stack added a point off the outside of his right boot to stretch the lead further, 2-5 to 1-2.

Galway responded well. Tom O’Flaherty found Jack Lawlor inside for a point, and O’Flaherty got one of his own. Galway pushed on, and Grainger broke through for Galway’s second goal, cutting the deficit to one. Breathnach pointed just before the break to give Kerry a two-point lead at halftime.

Half-time: Kerry Boston 2-6 | Galway Boston 2-4

The second half picked up where the first left off. Galway and Kerry traded scores early. Ryan Donohue and Joe Cooper for Kerry, Grainger with both for Galway.

Galway’s Potter intercepted a Kerry free, and the play ended with Paudi Behan slotting over to make it a one-point game. Niall O’Connor added one for Kerry. O’Connor won the next kickout and gave a fast kick pass into Breathnach for another score to push the lead back to three.

Lawlor added a point and 2 goals for Galway in quick succession. The first goal assisted by Lewis Ryan, the second set up by Hernon, swinging the game Galway’s way as they surged into a four-point lead. Stack responded with a pointed free, 2-11 to 4-8.

Galway were then reduced to 12 men for 10 minutes after Ciarán Potter was shown a black card. Kerry took full advantage. Stack added a free, but Galway still held their lead through an Eoin Morrissey point.

Kerry rallied strongly in the closing stages. Breathnach pointed from play, Kevin Goulding fisted one over, and Stack levelled it from a free — 2-15 to 4-9 with minutes left.

Jack O’Neill nudged Galway back in front with a two-point effort, but Paul Moran replied in kind with a free for Kerry, and fittingly, it ended level after an exciting game of football.

Galway Boston 1-30 | Fr. Tom Burkes 1-17

Galway Boston were crowned Northeast Senior Hurling champions on Sunday afternoon in Canton, seeing off Fr. Tom Burke’s in their third meeting this summer.

Galway got off to a flying start, Adam English opening the scoring from midfield before two pointed frees from Shane Meehan. A well-taken goal followed from Robin Mounsey, and Galway were into a 1-3 to no score lead inside the opening minutes.

Tom’s got off the mark through a Greg Thomas free. Fr. Tom’s Shane O’Brien came close to pulling back a goal for his side, but his effort was denied by Galway keeper John Coleman and sent out for a 65. Thomas pointed the resulting 65 to make it 1-3 to 0-2.

Meehan added another free, and Sean Walsh replied with one from play for Tom’s. Points from Kieran Hanrahan and Meehan stretched Galway’s advantage to six. Thomas kept Tom’s ticking over with another point, this one set up by Jimmy Quilty, but Galway pushed on with a brace of scores before another Thomas free made it 1-8 to 0-5.

After the water break, Shane O’Brien pointed for Tom’s, but Galway responded through Mounsey and Eoin Morrissey. Sean Walsh and Thomas replied for Tom’s, but Galway answered with three points — Mitchell, Chris Thomas, and Meehan all on target.

Sunday, June 29th 2025 - Men's Senior Football Championship - Galway Boston vs Donegal Boston

Galway Boston vs Donegal Boston

Sunday, June 29th 2pm

Galway Boston 2-22 | Donegal Boston 3-17

A thrilling contest unfolded in Canton on Sunday afternoon as Galway and Donegal played out a high-scoring and hard-fought affair.

Donegal burst through the Galway defense with a goal inside the opening minute, Michael O’Rowe firing home after linking with Jordan Morrissey. Stephen O’Brien added a point off the resulting kickout, and Donegal looked sharp early, 1-1 to no score.

Galway responded through a point from Tom O’Flaherty after Michael Moylan drove forward. A pointed free from Nathan Grainger followed to narrow the gap. Donegal hit back through O’Brien and were soon four ahead again, 0-2 to 1-3.

Galway’s Grainger added a 2-pointer and it was answered with a goal from Donegal’s Morrissey and points from Daire Cregg and O’Rowe.

Galway were in need of a lift and got it when Paudi Behan picked out O’Flaherty inside. O’Flaherty slotted it past the keeper to cut the margin to four, 1-4 to 2-5.

The game settled into a tit for tat rhythm. Donegal added points through Morrissey and Cregg, while Lewis Ryan and O’Flaherty kept Galway in touch.

Morrissey added two more before the break, but Galway finished the half the strong with Grainger pointing twice to bring the deficit back to four.

Half-time: Galway 1-9 | Donegal 2-10

Donegal opened the second half brightly. O’Rowe fisted over after a good solo run, and points followed from Carthy, Cregg, and McDevitt to put six between the sides, 1-10 to 2-13.

But Galway weren’t going away. Lewis Ryan and Grainger pointed in reply, before another Morrissey effort extended Donegal’s lead. Then came a crucial 2-pointer from Grainger to reduce the margin to 3.

Moments later, Galway were awarded a penalty. Grainger stepped up and buried it to level the game at 2-14 apiece.

The parity didn’t last long. Donegal were awarded a penalty of their own, and Daire Cregg made no mistake to restore their three-point lead. A black card was shown to Jason Noctor  that reduced Donegal to 12 men, and Galway took advantage of having the extra player.

Grainger pointed from a free, and O’Flaherty added a 2-pointer to level the game once more. Morrissey and Grainger traded points, before Ciarán Potter drove forward for Galway from the kickout to find Grainger inside for another point — all square again at 2-18 to 3-15.

Donegal surged once more. Cregg and Carthy pointed from play to edge their side back in front by 2. Galway’s substitute Senan Baker made a difference in his introduction with a 2-pointer from a free to tie the game.

With both sides pushing for a winner, it was Baker again who stepped up, adding a 2-pointer for Galway, sealing the win for the maroon and white side.
